Preventative maintenance is the key to maximizing the performance and durability of any fuel pump. Here’s a list of maintenance tips to share with your customers:
- Change your in-line fuel filter every 6-12 months.
- Thoroughly empty and clean the fuel tank at installation, as well as using a brand new fuel pump strainer to maximize the Fuel Pumps’ life.
- Pour a bottle of sludge reducer into your vehicle’s fuel tank at least once a year. This will break up deposits inside your vehicle’s fuel tank that can cause clogs in your fuel system.
- To ensure your fuel pump stays cool, try to keep your vehicle’s fuel tank at least 1/2 full.
- Whenever you buy gasoline, avoid off-brand gas stations, as they often sell low-grade gasoline.
- If you pull into the gas station and see that the underground tanks are being filled, come back later. If you fill the gas tank in your vehicle when the main tanks are being filled, you’ll end up with contaminants in your fuel system.
